Some great ideas here, Vasantha! As an Amazonian I can totally relate! :)

Well said Vasantha. I often think of work demands as an irregular sine curve. There will always be peaks (those stretch moments) even with good planning, cohesive teams, thoughtful bosses, collaborative clients. What I found important was being intentional around the lulls: during those periods to make sure to be engaged in my non-work life - spending time with family and friends and those activities that are important to me. Not to needlessly over deliver at work. That was my version of work-life harmony.

Very well said Pat. Wise and practical. Being intentional about where and how to spend your time at different points

very well articulated Vasanta! in my opinion Work life balance cannot be achieved in isolation, it has to be a culture shift in society. there is no doubt that it is a difficult almost impossible balance to achieve, especially for women, without giving in or giving up on something.

Very comprehensive thoughts on a difficult topic. One additional thought on takng ownership - Often, there is a trickle down effect in leaders where the pressure is just passed one from leaders to teams without taking ownership. Maybe owning and understanding the pressure that trcikels can help bring about better balance up and down the chain of command?!
